Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka is set to leave Brentford on loan and join Coventry City until the end of the season, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old has struggled for game time this season, featuring for just 88 minutes in the Premier League and starting only once under Keith Andrews. Valencia and Sheffield United were linked with the former FC Augsburg player, but Coventry have now won the race.

Soccernet.ng previously reported Brentford were delaying his exit while searching for a replacement. However, Coventry’s persistence has pushed the move forward.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Onyeka will join the Sky Blues with an option to buy included. He could debut against Oxford United on Wednesday.
