Onuachu Delighted as Trabzonspor Edge Seven-Goal Thriller
Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu says he is pleased with Trabzonspor’s 4-3 victory over Basaksehir FK in Monday’s Turkish League clash. The Nigerian scored from the penalty spot, taking his season tally to nine league goals.
Speaking to Spor Arena, Onuachu stressed that securing the win was more important than the team’s overall performance. He noted that Basaksehir played with 10 men, explaining that “as a striker there’s not much to do… you just have to find spaces to get a goal for your team.”
He admitted his usual style “didn’t really come into the game,” but highlighted the importance of converting “a crucial penalty at that moment.”
Onuachu added that “it’s always good to win,” saying the team is pleased but understands “there’s more work to do.” He praised the opponents for performing well despite being a man down, concluding that “we fought back and got the three points.”
