Real Madrid hosted Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 and managed to repeat a rare feat.
Details: According to Opta, this is only the fourth time in history that Real Madrid have scored three goals in the first half of a UEFA Champions League match. In the game against Man City, it is the first time since 2014, when Real scored three against Bayern Munich.
Incidentally, Valverde became only the second Uruguayan player to achieve this feat. The previous one was Walter Pandiani, who scored a hat-trick against PSG on March 7, 2001.
