Only Salah has more: Brighton player scores 12th penalty since the 2023/24 season
In Premier League Matchweek 27, Brighton visited Bournemouth, and a Seagulls player set a unique milestone early in the match.
Details: Forward João Pedro converted a penalty in the 12th minute to give Brighton the lead. For the Brazilian, it was his 12th successfully converted spot-kick since the start of the 2023/24 season. This campaign, Pedro has scored six penalties out of seven attempts. The only player with more penalties scored during this period is Mohamed Salah, who has netted 16 goals from the spot.
Meanwhile, in Brighton’s match against Chelsea, goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen registered an assist. He became the fifth Premier League goalkeeper this season to record an assist, joining Ederson, Mark Flekken, Bernd Leno, and Jordan Pickford. This is the highest number of goalkeepers with assists in a single Premier League season since 2010/11.
Reminder: The 22-year-old Verbruggen has played 24 Premier League matches this season.
