In the seventh round of the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona faced Benfica in an away fixture. The match turned into a thrilling goal fest, ending in a dramatic 5-4 blaugranas victory!

By the 30th minute, the Blaugranas were trailing 1-3 as Benfica’s forward Vangelis Pavlidis netted a hat-trick past Wojciech Szczęsny. By the 68th minute, the Catalans were down 2-4.

However, Barcelona refused to give up and managed to claw their way back into the game. A significant part of the comeback was due to Robert Lewandowski, who converted two penalties.

The Polish striker has now equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 19 penalty goals in the history of the UEFA Champions League. Lionel Messi remains just behind with 18 successful penalty conversions.
