David Alaba joined Real Madrid several years ago, but his chapter in Spanish football now appears to be nearing its conclusion.

Details: According to Diario AS, the Austrian defender has made a decision regarding his future and will leave Real Madrid after the current season. His contract is set to expire, and he will not renew his deal with the club. Alaba’s departure will also free up €25 million on the wage bill.

Alaba joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2021 and has made more than 100 appearances for the club during that period, scoring five goals and providing nine assists. He also won two UEFA Champions League titles with Real Madrid.

We previously reported that relationships within the club are currently far from ideal. Some players have completely stopped speaking to one another.

Reminder: Real Madrid’s 33-year-old German centre-back Antonio Rüdiger also struck a member of the club’s staff during training. He was initially seen arguing with the team’s equipment manager before repeatedly pretending to punch him.
