One of Atlético Madrid’s leaders wants to leave the club. Where does he want to go?

In the summer of 2024, Atlético Madrid signed Julián Álvarez, and he has since become one of the team’s leaders and standout stars. However, it now appears he could be ready for a new challenge.

Details: Insider Jose Alvarez reports that the Argentine striker has already informed Atlético Madrid’s hierarchy that he wants to join Barcelona this coming summer.

Julián Álvarez has made 47 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 19 goals and providing nine assists. He has helped Atlético reach the Copa del Rey final and the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

We recently reported that Barcelona’s management are impressed by the athleticism and on-pitch performances of Atlético striker Alexander Sørloth and are ready to discuss a potential transfer. The Catalan club could land the player for around €25 million.

Reminder: Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal picked up an injury in a La Liga match shortly after scoring and was forced to leave the pitch. It is now known how serious the issue is.
