Gianluigi Buffon is no longer a bachelor. Yesterday, he tied the knot with Ilaria D’Amico. The couple has been together for many years and engaged since 2017, but the official ceremony only took place now. Such a significant event was attended by Buffon’s former national team teammates and other prominent figures.
Details: The wedding of Buffon and D’Amico was held in Versilia, northern Tuscany, on Saturday, September 28. The guest list included numerous well-known personalities. Among those in attendance were Buffon’s former Italy teammates Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci, and Giorgio Chiellini.
Other notable figures from the football world included Italy's national team head coach Luciano Spalletti, the president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) Gabriele Gravina, former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, and the club’s president Andrea Agnelli.
Outside of football, actress Monica Bellucci and director Tim Burton, close friends of the couple, were also present. Additionally, TV journalists Leo Di Bello and Alessandro Alciato, colleagues of D’Amico, were in attendance.
Of course, the families of both the bride and groom were present, including D’Amico’s son Pietro Rocco, Buffon’s sons David Lee and Louis Thomas, and the couple’s firstborn, little Leopoldo Mattia.
D’Amico chose Monica Bellucci, her friend Giorgia Cavazzano, and journalist Angela Pedrini as her witnesses. Buffon selected his former athletic trainer Alessandro Nista, Paolo Luque, and Gianluca Baccarini as his witnesses.
Reminder: This is Buffon’s second marriage. He was previously married to Czech model Alena Šeredová, the runner-up of Miss Czech Republic 1998. The two were in a relationship from 2005 and married in 2011, but they announced their divorce in May 2014.
