Super Falcons attacker Joy Omewa made an instant impact on her Nottingham Forest Women debut, scoring in a 5–1 defeat to Birmingham City Women in Women’s Super League 2 on Sunday.

The Nigerian forward, who recently joined from Danish side Fortuna Hjørring, struck in the 45th minute after latching onto a long ball from Chloe Mustaki. Omewa calmly sidestepped her marker and finished past the goalkeeper to make it 1–1 at half-time.

Forest had gone behind earlier when Georgia Brougham scored an own goal in the 22nd minute.

Birmingham dominated the second half, with Wilma Leidhammar scoring in the 47th minute before Lisa Lindström hit a quick hat-trick. Forest face Charlton next on 8 February.
