Less than two weeks remain until the commencement of the world's premier sporting event, the 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris.

The 2024 Olympic Games will mark the 33rd edition of the Summer Games. It was announced in 2017 that Paris would host these competitions.

For the first time, the opening ceremony will take place outside the traditional stadium. Athletes will parade along the Seine, and the official protocol will occur at the Trocadéro Square on a temporary "mini-stadium."

A total of 329 sets of medals will be awarded in the upcoming competitions, ten fewer than at the previous Olympics in Tokyo. This is due to changes in the list of disciplines. Paris will debut breakdancing, and some disciplines will return to the program, including canoe sprint, women's boxing, sailing, and sport climbing.

Conversely, fans will not see certain events, such as some canoe sprint competitions, karate, baseball, softball, sailing, boxing, and weightlifting.

The 2024 Olympics will be the third time Paris has hosted the Games, with previous events held in 1900 and 1924. Paris will become the third city to host the Olympics three times, a distinction also held by London.

The organization and hosting of the 2024 Olympic Games are estimated to cost France around €8-9 billion.

The closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympics will take place on August 11.
