Olivier Verdon suspended for several months by the Benin Football Federation
The Benin international has been suspended from all national team activities following observed breaches of discipline.
In an official statement, the Benin Football Federation states that this decision follows disciplinary proceedings. After examining the allegations against the player and hearing his defence, the governing body of Beninese football said it had identified several breaches relating to discipline, compliance with the coaching staff’s instructions, the internal functioning of the squad, and the obligations of team life imposed on all Beninese internationals.
The Federation has therefore decided to impose a six-month fixed suspension, accompanied by an additional six-month suspended suspension.
“After reviewing all the evidence in the case, it was decided to impose on Mr Olivier Verdon a six (06)-month fixed suspension from Benin’s national teams, accompanied by an additional six (06)-month suspended suspension. During the period of the immediate suspension, the individual concerned may not be called up or take part in any activity relating to Benin’s national teams.”
