Giroud's new club will compete in European tournaments next season.

Details: According to Football Mercato, Olivier Giroud has reached an agreement with Lille to join the Dogs in the near future.

The contract is reported to be for one season, with an option to extend for another year. The transfer fee and the player's salary remain undisclosed for now, but the source insists the move is certain to happen.

The 38-year-old Giroud moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 2024 from Milan as a free agent and has since played 37 matches, netting 5 goals.

Giroud's contract with Los Angeles expires in December this year, but the Frenchman is unwilling to wait another six months and is determined to leave the USA this summer.

Giroud already featured in Ligue 1 from the 2010/11 to the 2012/13 season with Montpellier, before leaving his home league to join the Premier League, where he played for Arsenal in London.

Reminder: Angel Gomes may move to Marseille
