Olimpia Locks Down Olveira Until 2029 in Long-Term Extension
Olimpia has secured the future of one of its most important players. According to Versus, Uruguayan goalkeeper Gastón Olveira is set to sign a contract extension that will keep him at the club until December 2029.
Although Olveira is currently sidelined due to injury, the downtime provided an ideal window for negotiations with the board, which ultimately concluded with a successful agreement. The long-term deal highlights the club’s confidence in the 31-year-old shot-stopper and his value to the squad.
Olveira is expected to return to full competition in early May. Notably, on January 19, 2026, he will complete five years of residence in Paraguay, making him potentially eligible to represent the Paraguayan national team.
This move not only ensures continuity in goal for Olimpia, but also demonstrates the club’s strategic planning and long-term vision. With Olveira secured, the Franjeado strengthens a key area of the pitch ahead of future domestic and international campaigns.
