Olimpia Crushes Real España to Claim 39th Honduran League Title

CD Olimpia reaffirmed its dominance in Honduran football by winning the 2025 Apertura Tournament in style. According to BeSoccer, Eduardo Espinel’s side thrashed Real España 4–1 in Tegucigalpa, clinching the series 6–2 on aggregate and securing their record-extending 39th league title.
In front of over 20,000 fans at Estadio Nacional, Olimpia struck early with a header from José Mario Pinto. Brayan Moya briefly equalized, but Julián Martínez restored the lead just minutes later. In the second half, veteran striker Jerry Bengtson scored his 201st career goal to make it 3–1, and Michael Chirinos added a fourth to seal the victory.
Real España, under Jeaustin Campos, struggled to mount any serious comeback. One of the game’s emotional moments came late, when Alberth Elis returned to the field after a serious head injury suffered in 2024. With another title secured, Olimpia once again proved why they are the most decorated club in Honduras.
