Olamide Tops Osimhen's Pre-Match Playlist
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has revealed how music helps him prepare mentally before stepping onto the pitch. Speaking in an interview with the Smallie YouTube Channel, he said he has relied on music as motivation since childhood, explaining, “Growing up, I already had it in my mind that football is what I want to do.”
Osimhen said he listens mostly to Olamide, while also drawing inspiration from Nas and Damian Marley. He described Marley’s “Strong Will” as a key track in his routine, calling it a song that “continues to motivate me… it’s a really motivating song for me when I’m going for a match.”
He also named Olamide’s “King Sh!t” as a personal favourite, noting that its message resonates with him, quoting the line: “Don’t worry about tomorrow, forget your sorrow, forget about the shoes and clothes you borrowed.”
