Ola Aina Explains Why He Chose Nigeria Over England

Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has opened up on the reasons behind his decision to choose Nigeria over England during a recent interview.

Speaking during an interview with Nottingham Forest’s YouTube channel, the Super Eagles defender revealed that his decision to switch allegiance from England to Nigeria was influenced by his familial connections to Nigeria.

“Born and raised in London, I chose to play for Nigeria. It was simply a decision I made when I was around 20. That’s where my parents are from; that’s my heritage,” Aina stated in an interview with Nottingham Forest’s YouTube channel.

“The opportunity presented itself, and I believed it was the right one at that moment, so I embraced it wholeheartedly, and here I am today.”
