Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has spoken of his joy after producing a match-winning display in the FA Cup, days after switching his international allegiance to Nigeria. The 23-year-old was outstanding as Wrexham eliminated Premier League side Nottingham Forest on penalties after a 3-3 draw following extra time.

Speaking to BBC Sport Wales about a recent error against Swansea City, Okonkwo said, “Mistakes are normal in football… It won't be my first and won't be my last probably… I'm just happy I could make the difference again.”

Okonkwo saved spot-kicks from Igor Jesus and Omari Hutchinson in the 4-3 shootout win.

The Arsenal man now boosts Nigeria’s goalkeeping pool, led by Stanley Nwabali, alongside Francis Uzoho and Maduka Okoye this season.
