Oh no! Premier League star suffers ACL tear and will miss 9 months

Details: According to AFP, the 24-year-old Belgium and Aston Villa midfielder has already undergone surgery following a torn anterior cruciate ligament. His recovery is expected to take approximately nine months.

Onana sustained the injury during the World Cup round of 16 clash against the United States. The Belgian landed awkwardly and was forced off the pitch as early as the 21st minute, although his team went on to win 4-1.
Initial examinations confirmed a ruptured ACL in his right knee. This injury not only ended the midfielder's World Cup campaign prematurely, but now also means he will miss a significant portion of the club season for Aston Villa.
Losing Onana is a major blow for Unai Emery's squad. With a nine-month rehabilitation period, the Belgian is not expected back on the pitch until at least spring 2027.
Reminder: Major loss. Belgium national team leader ruled out of the World Cup due to injury.
