For the first time, Messi has made it clear that his legendary career may be coming to an end.

Details: Lionel Messi admitted that after the passing of his father Jorge, it's been extremely difficult to think about football and what comes next. The Argentine star confessed that he is now uncertain whether he will be able to keep playing for much longer. Nevertheless, he has not made any official announcement about ending his career just yet.

The father of the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner passed away on August 7 at the age of 68 after a long illness. Jorge had been by his son's side practically from the very beginning and represented him as an agent for many years.

Messi made it clear that this loss has profoundly changed his outlook. According to the footballer, he used to simply go out and play, but now he's not sure how much longer he can continue.

Still, Messi has not announced any official retirement date. His last major international tournament was the 2026 World Cup, where Argentina reached the final but fell to Spain 0-1.

Reminder: Football takes a back seat. Real and Barcelona offer condolences to Messi after his father's passing.
