Oh no! Manchester United leader ruled out for the rest of the year
Manchester United have been dealt another major injury blow, with one of their key attacking players facing a lengthy absence.
Details: According to renowned journalist Laurie Whitwell, Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko is expected to remain sidelined until at least January 2027. This means the 23-year-old forward is set to miss the remainder of the calendar year, dealing a serious blow to Manchester United's attacking options. The club has yet to officially confirm a definitive return date.

Sesko has been struggling with a lower-leg injury since September. Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick previously admitted that the medical staff were still carrying out assessments to determine the full extent of the problem and establish a recovery timeline.
Earlier reports suggested that the Slovenian could be sidelined for several months, potentially extending his absence into February. The possibility of surgery has also been considered, although no final decision on that option has been publicly confirmed.
The situation leaves Carrick with fewer options in attack. Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Joshua Zirkzee are among the players available to cover the centre-forward position during Sesko's absence.
It's worth noting that Sesko has made six appearances for Manchester United in the 2026/27 season, scoring two goals. The Slovenian joined the English giants from RB Leipzig in 2025.
