Oh no! Four Premier League matches could be postponed
The Premier League is facing a major scheduling headache as severe weather threatens several matches this weekend.
Details: Four Premier League fixtures scheduled for Sunday, October 25, are at risk of postponement due to dangerous weather conditions across the United Kingdom. Storm Austen has already brought powerful winds and heavy rainfall, while the approaching Storm Boelo threatens further disruption. According to talkSPORT, several northern English cities are expected to experience particularly strong winds during Sunday's matches.
The following four Premier League matches are considered particularly vulnerable:
- Hull City vs Brentford
- Liverpool vs Brighton
- Manchester United vs Bournemouth
- Sunderland vs Leeds United
Weather forecasts suggest wind gusts exceeding 50 mph in Hull, Liverpool and Manchester, while conditions around Sunderland could be even more severe, with gusts potentially reaching 63 mph. The strong winds could create serious safety concerns for supporters travelling to stadiums.
At present, no Premier League matches have been officially postponed because of the storm, but the situation could change as the weekend progresses. The final decisions will depend on weather conditions and safety assessments ahead of kick-off.
It is worth recalling that Storm Darragh forced the postponement of the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool in December 2024, when officials cited safety concerns in the surrounding area.
