OGC Nice players showed unity on Sunday by wearing the names of Terem Moffi and Jeremie Boga on their jerseys during their Ligue 1 game against Angers. According to L’Équipe, the gesture came after both forwards went on sick leave following a violent attack by their own fans after last week’s 3-1 loss to Lorient.
Players kept their usual squad numbers but replaced their names with “Moffi” or “Boga” to symbolically represent the absent pair. The move highlighted the team’s support for the two attackers, who had been targeted by supporters ahead of the Lorient fixture.
Moffi has also been included in Eric Chelle’s 54-man provisional squad for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
