OFFICIAL: Valencia sacked Rubén Baraja

Valencia has endured a disastrous start to the current La Liga season and is now battling to avoid relegation. The club has taken drastic measures.

Details: Today, Valencia’s management officially announced the dismissal of head coach Rubén Baraja, who led the team in a fight for European qualification last season.

The name of the new head coach will be announced at a later date.

Interestingly, the dismissal comes amid widespread protests by the club's fans against the management. Some of the team’s ultras are calling for a boycott of the upcoming home match against Real Madrid to express their dissatisfaction with Peter Lim's actions.

In 17 matches, Valencia has earned only 12 points and sits in 19th place in La Liga.

Reminder: Earlier reports suggested Valencia was interested in former Barcelona midfielder Arthur Melo.
