Official: Sunderland Complete Signing of DR Congo International Jules Ahoka from Royal Antwerp

Sunderland have officially completed the signing of DR Congo international Jules Ahoka from Belgian club Royal Antwerp.

The 20-year-old midfielder has joined the Black Cats in a deal worth around £8 million after making his breakthrough in the Belgian top flight last season.

Speaking following the completion of his contract with the Black Cats, the DR Congo international expressed delight at joining Sunderland.

“I am very happy and proud to join Sunderland,” Ahoka said after completing the transfer. "It is a big club with great ambitions, and I am excited to be here.

"I want to work hard, learn from my team-mates and the staff, and continue developing as a player. I will give everything for the club and I cannot wait to get started."

Ahoka becomes Sunderland’s third signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Belgian left-back Thomas Meunier and French right-back Dayann Methalie.
