Sevilla decided to part ways with their head coach during the international break and have already identified his successor.
Details: The club have officially confirmed that Luis García Plaza will take charge of the first team. His contract will run until the summer of 2027.
In the summer of 2020, he took over Mallorca and guided them to promotion to La Liga in his very first season, before leaving the club at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
The last team managed by Luis García Plaza prior to this appointment was Deportivo Alavés, whom he joined later that same season and successfully led to promotion to La Liga.
Sevilla currently sit 15th in the La Liga table. They have collected 31 points from 29 matches and are just three points clear of the relegation zone. The team is on a four-game winless run, with two defeats and two draws.
Reminder: We previously reported that Sergio Ramos is leading an investment group preparing a bid to acquire Sevilla. The total value of the deal is estimated at around €400 million.
