The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has officially announced the appointment of Greek specialist Georgios Donis as the new head coach of the national team.
Details: The 56-year-old tactician has signed a contract running until July 2027. Donis takes over from Frenchman Hervé Renard, whose contract with the federation was terminated earlier by mutual consent.
The Greek coach boasts an impressive résumé, having worked with Greek powerhouses such as AEK and PAOK, alongside extensive experience in the Saudi Professional League. Previously, he successfully managed Al Hilal, Al Wehda, and Al Fateh, with his most recent position at Al Khaleej.
This deep understanding of the league's specifics and the mentality of local players should help him quickly adapt the squad to his philosophy and demands.
Reminder: US President Donald Trump is demanding that Iran be replaced at the World Cup.
