Official: Oriol Romeu returns to Southampton

34-year-old midfielder Oriol Romeu has joined English side Southampton.

Details: The Spaniard has signed with the English club as a free agent, putting pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season.

This marks a homecoming for Romeu, who previously enjoyed several successful seasons with Southampton. His return comes three years after leaving the Saints.

The player emphasized that returning to the club holds special meaning for him:

"I feel like I owe something to them as well," said Romeu.

Last season, the defensive midfielder played on loan for Girona, featuring in 32 matches but did not contribute with goals or assists.
