Nottingham Forest have officially completed the signing of Ivory Coast defender Ousmane Diomande from Portuguese giants Sporting CP.

The 22-year-old centre-back has signed a four-year contract with Forest, with the club holding an option to extend his stay for another year.

Forest head coach Oliver Glasner played a key role in the move, having previously pushed for Diomande's signing during his time in charge of Crystal Palace.

Diomande expressed his excitement after completing the transfer, insisting he is ready to give everything to help Forest achieve their ambitions.

"I am very happy to be here. It is a historic club, and it motivates me to join such a club," said Diomande

“I believe we can achieve very good things this season and I am looking forward to meeting the players and head coach. I will give my best.”

The defender leaves Sporting after four seasons with the Portuguese club, during which he made 132 appearances, scored seven goals and won the Primeira Liga title twice.

At international level, Diomande has earned 15 caps for Ivory Coast.
