The club has officially announced the termination of Gallardo's contract.

Details: Today, River Plate’s official X (formerly Twitter) page announced that 50-year-old Marcelo Gallardo is no longer the head coach, as both parties have agreed to terminate his contract.

One of the main reasons for Gallardo's dismissal is considered to be River Plate’s disappointing results this season. In total, Gallardo managed 510 matches at the helm of River Plate, recording 269 wins, 128 draws, and 113 defeats. Currently, the team sits 10th in Group B of the Apertura.

According to Posta Sports, River Plate’s management has already found Gallardo’s replacement. The team will be led by the equally renowned Jorge Sampaoli, who is widely known for coaching the Argentina national team, as well as clubs like Marseille, Sevilla, Rennes, Santos, Atlético Mineiro, and the Chilean national team.
