Official! Manchester City talent completes move to Manchester United
Manchester United have officially secured another promising talent from their city rivals.
Details: The Red Devils have completed the signing of 17-year-old midfielder Karim Cassim from Manchester City. The transfer has now received the necessary ratification from the Premier League, meaning the youngster is finally eligible to represent Manchester United's academy in official matches.
Manchester United had reached an agreement to sign Cassim earlier this summer, but the midfielder was unable to make his competitive debut while the club awaited the completion of the Premier League's registration process.
The teenager had already been spotted on the bench during Manchester United's Under-18 Premier League Cup victory over Charlton Athletic in August. However, he did not feature in the match because his transfer had not yet been formally approved.
With the remaining formalities now completed, Cassim can finally begin playing competitive academy football for his new club. The midfielder joins fellow Manchester City academy graduate David Eze, who also made the move to Manchester United this summer.
It is worth noting that Cassim turned 17 on September 12. In February, he scored his first Under-18 Premier League North goal for Manchester City in a 7-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
