Luka Modrić's extraordinary story with the Croatia national team is not over yet.
Details: The legendary midfielder has decided to continue his international career and has confirmed his availability for Croatia's upcoming UEFA Nations League matches. Modrić will therefore remain part of new head coach Slaven Bilić's plans rather than bringing his remarkable national-team journey to an end.
The decision comes only days before another major milestone for the Croatian captain. Modrić was born on September 9, 1985, meaning he will turn 41 before the national team's next match. Despite his age, the midfielder has opted to remain available and continue leading Croatia into another international cycle.
Croatia's first match of the new Nations League campaign is scheduled for September 26 away against Czechia. Further fixtures against Spain and England will follow, and Modrić is expected to remain at Bilić's disposal as the new head coach begins his second spell in charge of the national team.
It's worth noting that Modrić has already made 202 senior appearances for Croatia and scored 29 goals. His club career is also continuing at the highest level: AC Milan officially extended his contract until June 30, 2027, after the midfielder made 37 appearances and scored twice for the Rossoneri last season.
