Official: Kieran Trippier announces departure from Newcastle
The defender and the first major signing of the new Newcastle United ownership era, Kieran Trippier, is set to leave St. James' Park.
Details: The 35-year-old Englishman has officially confirmed that he will not be renewing his contract and will depart the Magpies as a free agent at the end of the current season.
His farewell letter is filled with heartfelt gratitude:
“The time has come to leave this amazing club after four and a half years. I felt at home here. I’m going to miss this place so much. A massive thank you to the fans – you’ve always been there, through the good times and the bad,” wrote the Englishman.
It's worth noting that the defender has been playing for the English club since 2022, making 157 appearances, scoring 4 goals, and providing 29 assists. He also lifted the EFL Cup with Newcastle.
Reminder: The Premier League announced the winners for Goal of the Month and Save of the Month for March.
