Roberto De Zerbi has secured one of his defensive linchpins for the long-term vision at Tottenham.

Details: Dutch defender Micky van de Ven has officially extended his contract with the London club. The new long-term deal for the 25-year-old will keep him at Spurs for five more years—until the summer of 2031. Earlier, Spanish defender Pedro Porro also signed a similar extension with the North London side.

Re-signing van de Ven was a top priority for Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi. The Italian tactician regards the Dutchman as one of the best central defenders in Europe and sees him as a cornerstone in building his new team.

It’s worth noting that Micky van de Ven has been with Tottenham since the summer of 2023 after transferring from German club Wolfsburg. Since then, the defender has made 96 appearances for the Londoners across all competitions and scored 10 goals. According to the reputable portal Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €50 million.
