Official: Juventus signs goalkeeper from the Premier League
Vicario is heading home — and Juventus have finally completed their move for the Italian goalkeeper.
Details: Juventus have officially announced the signing of Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham. The 29-year-old goalkeeper has joined the Turin club on a season-long loan running until June 30, 2027, bringing his three-year spell in North London to a temporary end.
Tottenham have also confirmed the transfer and revealed an important detail of the agreement: Juventus will have an option to make Vicario's move permanent next summer. The clubs have not disclosed the financial terms of the option in their official announcements.
For Vicario, the move means a return to Italian football. Before joining Tottenham from Empoli in 2023, the goalkeeper had spent his entire senior career in Italy, representing Venezia, Perugia, Cagliari and Empoli after coming through the ranks at Udinese. He made 69 Serie A appearances for Empoli before earning his move to England.
The Italian international also leaves Tottenham with a major European trophy on his record. Vicario was part of the Spurs side that won the Europa League in the 2024/25 season and started nine of the club's 15 matches on their way to the title.
It is worth noting that Vicario made 117 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions and kept 29 clean sheets. He also earned his first senior Italy call-up in March 2024 and has collected five international caps.
Reminder: Plan B worked! Juventus swap Martinez for Vicario
