While the 2026 Formula 1 season is still a few years away, groundbreaking developments are already being revealed for the future of the championship.

Details: Formula 1 and the FIA have confirmed earlier reports that the grid will expand to include an 11th team, GM/Cadillac. Initially, the team will compete with customer engines, with General Motors engines expected to power its cars starting in 2028. Additional details will be provided in future statements from Formula 1.

Reminder: Previously, Andretti was reported as a potential candidate for the 11th team after submitting an application to join the championship. While the FIA approved the bid last October, Formula 1’s management ultimately rejected it.

Meanwhile, following the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Max Verstappen of Red Bull secured his fourth consecutive Formula 1 championship title.
