Eugen Polanski, who previously served as interim manager, has now been officially named head coach of Borussia after signing a contract through 2028.
Details: The former Poland international midfielder had been acting in the role since Gerardo Seoane's dismissal in mid-September and has now been confirmed as the club's permanent head coach.
"We are delighted to reach an agreement with Eugen after constructive and open talks. Right from the start, he impressed us with his qualities—both in terms of character and professionalism," stated sporting director Roland Schröder.
Polanski commented:
"It is a great honor for me to work at my hometown club. Being the head coach of Borussia brings me joy and pride. The support from the club’s management is motivating and highlights the efforts of the entire team."
The 39-year-old coach progressed through Borussia's academy and made his Bundesliga debut with the club. After hanging up his boots in 2018, he returned to Borussia as a coach.
