Official: Coventry City Sign Taiwo Awoniyi From Nottingham Forest for £9 Million
Coventry City have officially completed the signing of Nigerian international Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest in a deal reportedly worth £9 million.
The 29-year-old striker has joined Frank Lampard's side as they prepare for their return to the Premier League, with Coventry set to face champions Arsenal in their opening league fixture on Friday.
The move marks a new chapter for Awoniyi after four seasons at Nottingham Forest. He scored 23 goals in 103 appearances across all competitions during his time at the City Ground, although his playing time was limited for much of last season.
Awoniyi is excited about the opportunity to join Coventry and work with his new teammates.
"I am very excited about this season, and I can't wait to get started," Awoniyi said.
"I'm really looking forward to working with my new teammates. I have seen how amazing they have been last season, coming up from the Championship.
"They were incredible and now I am just excited to join them."
