OFFICIAL: Borussia Dortmund sacked Nuri Şahin

Borussia Dortmund is enduring a disastrous season, prompting the club to take drastic measures.

Details: Today, Borussia Dortmund’s management officially announced the dismissal of Nuri Şahin as head coach.

The Black and Yellows started 2025 with four consecutive defeats, including yesterday's 1-2 away loss to Bologna in the 7th round of the UEFA Champions League.

In the Bundesliga, Dortmund has suffered losses to Eintracht Frankfurt (0-2) and Holstein Kiel (2-4), dropping to 10th place. They are now seven points behind the top four.

Şahin was appointed as Dortmund’s head coach this summer, replacing Edin Terzić. Before this, he managed Antalyaspor and served as an assistant to Terzić.
