Official: Barcelona announces winger has suffered ACL rupture
The worst fears surrounding Roony Bardghji have been confirmed.
Details: Barcelona has officially announced that the 20-year-old winger has suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
The player is set to undergo surgery in the coming days. Barcelona has yet to announce an exact recovery timeline.
This is an especially painful blow for Bardghji. Back in May 2024, while still playing for Copenhagen, the Swede suffered the same ACL injury. On that occasion, he spent nearly ten months sidelined and only returned to action at the end of March 2025.
It’s worth noting that in the summer of 2025, Barcelona signed Bardghji from Copenhagen for €2.5 million. Transfermarkt now values the Swedish winger at €15 million.
Last season, Roony Bardghji played 28 matches for Barcelona across all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists.
