Official! Atalanta complete deadline raid for English winger
Atalanta have landed one of the most eye catching attacking signings of this deadline day: English winger Jonathan Rowe is leaving Bologna for Bergamo.
Details: The move has been confirmed as a paid loan of €5 million with a €35 million obligation to buy. According to Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sport Italia, the structure is a €5 million loan with a guaranteed obligation, while performance add-ons can take the total package up to around €40 million. Rowe had made it clear he only wanted Atalanta.
The 23 year old Londoner, a former Norwich City academy product, joined Bologna from Marseille in August 2025 on a contract running until 2029 and quickly became one of the Rossoblu's most dangerous attackers. Across his spell in Emilia-Romagna he scored 8 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions, including a late winner at Napoli last May. Bologna even left him out of Monday's squad against Atalanta because, as coach Giovanni Tedesco put it, he was not serene due to the transfer market. La Dea had been chasing him for weeks, and the sale of defender Honest Ahanor to Chelsea helped unlock the funds. Bologna, meanwhile, move to replace him with Samuel Mbangula. Transfermarkt currently values Rowe at €28 million, so Bergamo are paying a premium for a winger who also shone in the Europa League and still dreams of catching Thomas Tuchel's eye for England.
It's worth noting that Rowe already holds dual British Jamaican citizenship and won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship with England in 2025, arriving in Bergamo as one of the most explosive wide forwards in Serie A.
