Official: American tennis player Christopher Eubanks retires
American tennis player Christopher Eubanks has announced his retirement from professional tennis at the age of 29.
Details: On his social media accounts, the American unexpectedly revealed that he is bringing his tennis career to an end.
"If you told that little boy from the south side of Atlanta that he would achieve all this, he wouldn’t have believed it. Two-time Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year? Wimbledon quarterfinalist? Olympian? Incredible," Eubanks wrote, reflecting on his career milestones.
He noted that tennis gave him the chance to travel the world, build valuable relationships, and fulfill his lifelong dream of playing professionally.
"I can’t put into words how blessed I’ve been. Is this the end?! It’s hard to say for sure, but if it is, it’s been one unbelievable ride," added the athlete.
Eubanks’ best result on the ATP Tour was reaching the quarterfinals at Wimbledon in 2023.
Reminder: Carlos Alcaraz will miss the Davis Cup.
