The journey of legendary Brazilian forward Neymar in Saudi Arabia has come to an end.
Details: Today, Al-Hilal officially announced the termination of Neymar's contract, making him a free agent.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Neymar is set to return to his boyhood club, Santos. While initially expected to move on loan, it will now be a permanent transfer.
Neymar joined Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 from PSG for €90 million. However, due to injuries, he only managed to play in 7 matches, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists.
To facilitate his return to Santos, Neymar will forgo a significant portion of his salary.
Neymar originally left Santos for Barcelona in the summer of 2013 in an €88 million deal. During his time at Santos, he played 225 matches, scored 136 goals, and registered 64 assists.
At the end of last season, Santos won Serie B, securing a return to the top tier of Brazilian football after a year-long absence.
Reminder: It was previously reported that Neymar might become one of Santos’ co-owners.
