OCSC Signs Ex-Rangers Midfielder Stephen Kelly for USL Championship Push

Orange County SC has bolstered its midfield with the signing of former Rangers and Livingston FC player Stephen Kelly. The club announced Wednesday that Kelly, 25, has joined for the remainder of the 2025 USL Championship season after playing a key role in Livingston’s recent promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
A product of Rangers’ youth academy, Kelly debuted in the 2018 League Cup and has since accumulated over 100 professional appearances. His career includes loan spells at Ayr United, Ross County, and Salford City, along with 20 caps for Scotland’s youth teams. He scored for the U21s in his last appearance, a 1–1 draw against Denmark in 2021.
At Livingston, Kelly made 113 appearances, tallying 15 goals and 10 assists. He was instrumental in their promotion this season and earned back-to-back Player of the Month honors in March and April.
“We’re excited to welcome Stephen,” said OCSC GM Peter Nugent. “His experience, vision, and hunger stood out to us.” Pending league and federation approval, Kelly is expected to debut Saturday, June 28, against Sacramento Republic FC in the Jägermeister Cup.
