Ntwari's Chiefs Departure Looms as Injuries Weigh on Amakhosi
Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly ready to part ways with goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari before he completes a full season at Naturena — a move that has sparked intense speculation among fans and media alike.
Ntwari’s Exit: Just a Rumour?
According to The Citizen and other credible sources, this is more than just a rumour. Chiefs are actively considering releasing Ntwari to open up space for a new signing between the posts. The Rwandan international was brought in with hopes of reinforcing the goalkeeping department, but his performances have failed to convince the technical team he can be a long-term successor to club legend Itumeleng Khune.
Key Injuries Ahead of Sundowns Clash
As Chiefs prepare for a crucial Nedbank Cup semi-final clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday, they face additional setbacks with two important absentees:
- Thabo Sele is out after picking up a knock in the 2-1 defeat to Golden Arrows.
- Ignacio Miguel, who has been instrumental this season with 26 appearances, is also doubtful after a recent bruise against TS Galaxy.
Both injuries are seen as significant blows to the Amakhosi’s chances, especially against a high-flying Sundowns side.
Whether Ntwari's departure is confirmed soon or not, the signals suggest Kaizer Chiefs are already reshaping their squad for next season — and goalkeeping may be one of the top priorities.
