NPFL: Warri Wolves Appeal N4.2 Million Fine, Points Deduction and Stadium Ban
Warri Wolves have lodged an appeal against sanctions imposed on them by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following an alleged attack on match officials after their home draw with Kano Pillars last weekend.
The Seasiders were fined ₦4.2 million and deducted three points and three goals from their accumulated tally. The league also ordered the club to play their next three home matches behind closed doors.
In a statement, Warri Wolves said they were appealing for leniency, citing their efforts to apprehend the suspect allegedly involved in the incident.
The club acknowledged the seriousness of the matter and said they respected the NPFL’s disciplinary process while expressing hope that their appeal would receive favourable consideration.
Warri Wolves also urged their supporters to remain calm, united and steadfast as the club awaits the outcome of the appeal.
