NPFL: Super Eagles Goalkeeper Amas Obasogie Returns to Bendel Insurance on One-Year Deal
Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has officially returned to Bendel Insurance, signing a one-year contract with the Nigeria Premier Football League club.
The Benin Arsenal confirmed the return of their former captain, welcoming the experienced shot-stopper back to the club where his career began to flourish.
“Back where it all began. Former captain and Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie returns and signs a one-year contract. Welcome home, Amas. The story continues,” the club announced.
Obasogie previously represented Bendel Insurance in 2024 before moving abroad. The goalkeeper went on to have spells in Tanzania and Ethiopia before deciding to return to the Benin-based club.
His first spell with Bendel Insurance included the club’s promotion campaign and memorable 2023 run, which helped put him on the national team radar.
Obasogie later earned a call-up to the Super Eagles and represented Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
