NPFL: Sporting Lagos Coach Jeffrey Buter Summoned Over Refereeing Comments

Sporting Lagos head coach Jeffrey Buter has been summoned by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) over comments he made about the officiating during his side's Lagos Derby against Ikorodu City.

The invitation follows Buter's criticism of the match officials after Sporting Lagos faced Ikorodu City in a rescheduled NPFL fixture at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on September 30.

Buter reportedly expressed his disappointment with the standard of officiating during the derby, prompting the NPFL to take note of his remarks.

The league body has since frowned upon the comments and requested the Sporting Lagos coach to appear before its officials in Abuja to explain his position.

According to several local reports, Buter is expected to report to the NPFL headquarters in Abuja this week, where he will face questioning over the statements made following the Lagos Derby.
