NPFL Set for Late August Kick-Off as 2026/27 Season Calendar Takes Shape
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) is expected to kick off the 2026/27 season during the weekend of August 27–29, following the provisional approval of the league calendar by officials.
According to the proposed schedule, the campaign will run until May 30, 2027, giving clubs a clear roadmap for the new season.
The league will pause after Matchday 19 in December, with a mid-season break scheduled from December 23 to January 6. During that period, the second transfer window will be open before league action resumes in January.
The calendar also includes the President Federation Cup, with state playoffs pencilled in for early February 2027.
An official confirmation of the full fixture list and calendar is expected from the league organizers in the coming weeks.
