NPFL: Rivers United Thrash Kun Khalifat 5-0 to Maintain Unbeaten Run

Rivers United continued their impressive start to the season with a convincing 5-0 victory over Kun Khalifat in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday Five fixture at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

Salman Abubakar opened the scoring in the 27th minute before Chijioke Mbaoma doubled Rivers United’s advantage four minutes after the restart.

Abubakar completed his brace in the 58th minute, with Wasiu Falolu adding a fourth goal in the 62nd minute.

Ekene Awazie completed the rout in the 84th minute as Rivers United cruised to a comfortable home victory.

The result extended Rivers United’s unbeaten run across all competitions. The Port Harcourt-based side have now won three of their last four matches and moved up to second place on the NPFL table with 10 points.
