NPFL: Rivers United Appoint Stephen Manyo as New Club Captain

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Rivers United have officially named Stephen Manyo as the club's new captain ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The experienced defender will wear the captain's armband as the Pride of Rivers prepare for another domestic campaign and their return to continental football in the CAF Champions League.

Rivers United confirmed the appointment in an official statement shared on the club's social media platforms, praising Manyo's influence since his arrival. The Port Harcourt-based club also confirmed that striker Chijioke Mbaoma will serve as the club's assistant captain for the new season.
